Customs of Faith

Vilarelhos is a village of very ancient origin, with traces of the Roman period and with an economic importance evident in the most important non-religious monument in the municipality, the Solar do Morgado de Vilarelhos, of Baroque style. The Morgado de Vilarelhos manor house (18th-19th century) is the village’s ex-libris and also the most important private building, with architectural features, in the municipality of Alfândega da Fé, being the only emblazoned manor house that maintains its original features, at least least abroad.
Walk through this village from the Mother Church, passing by the Salgueiro dam, through the vineyards of the Douro demarcated region and ending up at the imposing Chapel of Nª S.ª dos Anúncios.
