works with raffia
It was a childhood dream that never left him. Bruno Pires began his artistic career with painting, sculpture and costume jewellery, and it was only about 10 years ago that he ventured into the art of creating with raffia.
Based on materials such as wood, stone and shells, it gives free rein to his imagination.
In his works, as beautiful as they are original, he inserts appliqués with pine cones and cherry or olive pits, which leave a personal imprint on each work.
In a job that requires a lot of time and patience, he makes sculptures, paintings, raffia embroidery and wigs for masks.
The art animal marks his space, since, as he says “it is innate, each one is born for what he is born for”, and Mr. Bruno was born to surprise us with his limitless imagination.
