Abreiro

Historical Heritage
The village of Abreiro is located in a valley bathed by the river Tua, marked by cultivated slopes and an enormous archaeological value, as evidenced by the medieval road that connects the town to the old bridge of Abreiro, the ruins of the medieval bridge and the dolmen of the Ark. In the center of the village, the well-preserved pillory and cross and the imposing manor houses contrast with the simple granite houses with the typical wooden balconies..
If you walk through the streets of the center of this village in Portugal, you will find many interesting reasons that justify this walk, here is one more peculiar one: on a wall of the building that was the town hall, in front of the pillory, there is a rare mark, engraved in the granite that served as a measure for fabric merchants.
