Carrazeda da Ansiães Natural Heritage
The viewpoint located in Brunheda, at the western end of the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães, is an excellent place to contemplate the landscape of the Tua Valley. From this place it is possible to observe the banks of the Tua river, which is assumed as a natural delimiter of the geographical area of the municipality, in an area where the transition from the granite slopes of the valley to a flatter area in which schist predominate and whose landscape becomes more regular.
The Brunheda area served as a crucial point for crossing the Tua River, with different forms of connection between both banks having existed throughout the 19th century. XX, although its crossing made by boat has been carried out since time immemorial, as witnessed by the existing ex-votos in the chapel of Mr. of the Steps.
