2023 National Crafts Award, in the category – Young Talents
Sofia Pombares was the winner of the 2023 National Crafts Award, in the category – Young Talents, awarded by IEFP.
This award gives institutional recognition to the work that artisan Sofia Pombares has carried out in the creation, innovation and production of crafts related to the Caretos de Podence tradition and the contribution to safeguarding this tradition.
The distinction takes place every 2 years and aims to encourage artisanal production, in its traditional and contemporary aspects, distinguishing Portuguese artisans, privileging their technical and professional skills, as well as their aesthetic capacity.
Sofia Pombares has been, since the beginning, an artisan of Rota Saber Fazer.
